Fatal South Bay Shooting Suspect ID’d

SAN JOSÉ, CA —A suspect arrested last week in connection with a fatal New Year’s Day shooting in San José has been identified.

Henry Livingston, 58 of San José, was arrested Jan. 10 on suspicion of homicide, authorities said.

Officers at around 6:10 p.m. Jan. 1 responded to the 400 block of West San Carlos Street on a report of the shooting, San José police said.

Officers arrived to find the victim, an adult male, suffering from at least one gunshot, police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with a life-threatening injury from which he died Jan. 9, police said.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the South Bay city’s first reported homicide of 2013 remain under investigation.

The SJPD’s Covert Response Unit arrested the suspect in San José, police said.
