Firefighters Evacuate Strip Mall After Fire Sparks In Sushi Restaurant Under Construction
The restaurant was unoccupied and is undergoing renovations.
SAN JOSE, CA — A fire broke out Sunday at a sushi restaurant in San Jose that is under construction, according to the San Jose Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to Tomo Sushi, in the 5400 block of Snell Avenue, at about 10:20 a.m.
Neighboring businesses were evacuated and the fire was contained to the restaurant's sushi bar area, according to the fire department.
The restaurant was unoccupied and is undergoing renovations.

There were no injuries. The cause was being investigated as of Sunday afternoon.
