SAN JOSE, CA — A San Jose man is accused of multiple weapons crimes after investigators discovered a large cache of ghost guns, stolen firearms and other illegal materials, according to police.

Officials said the suspect called 911 and said an armed man was attempting to break into his Cottle Avenue home around 1:18 p.m. Monday. When police arrived, the man told them someone with a gun was still inside, but officers said no one was found inside the home. Investigators determined there was never a second person at the house and that the man may have been hallucinating.

While inside the house, officers allege they found a large cache of firearms, including "privately manufactured" guns, guns that had been reported stolen, and guns with serial numbers altered or missing.
