Historic Ainsley House Offers Cultural Exhibits

The Campbell museum is hosting an opening reception on March 3 to commemorate nature in fashion and the Ohlone tribe's heritage.

CAMPBELL, CA -- The Ainsley House will host an exhibit reception on March 3 from noon to 2 p.m. for two new temporary displays running through mid October. The free exhibit reception will include admission to the Ainsley House, refreshments in the Carriage House, the opportunity to explore the exhibits and into children’s crafts area.

The two Ainsley House exhibits are:

  • Wearing the Living World: How Fashion Impacts Nature: (Located inside the Carriage House) explores how clothing is influenced by nature, how nature inspires fashion and how what is worn impacts the natural environment.
  • Back From Extinction: Muwekma Ohlone’s History, Heritage and Legacy: (Located inside the Ainsley House) springboards off the over 13,000 years the tribal groups known as the Ohlone lived in the Bay Area. This exhibit explores their history and survival. More information may be obtained by visiting http://muwekma.org/.

Admission into the historic Ainsley House is $8 for adults (ages 18-65); $6 for seniors (age 65+); $4 for youth (ages 7-17); children under age 7 and museum members may get in for free.
