Los Gatos Creek Trail Users Temporarily Rerouted

Construction along the local trail to fix damage begins Oct. 2 and ends Oct. 3.

The Los Gatos Creek Trail will be seeing some construction this week and trail users will be rerouted temporarily.

According to Campbell Public Works Interim Superintendent John Iaquinto, a contractor for the city' public works department will be installing a retainer wall on the Los Gatos Creek near the bridge. The cost of the project is $4,800.

"The slope is sloffing off and onto the trail and it makes it difficult for the fire department to respond in that area," Iaquinto said.

Emergency response crews had damaged the bridge on July 30.

The project site is located just below Towneplace Suites by Marriott off of E. Campbell Avenue. Construction will begin Oct. 2 and tentatively end Wednesday afternoon on Oct. 3.

"We should be able to open up the trail at the end of the day for the dusk crowd but we can't guarantee anything," he said.
