SAN JOSE, CA — A Rosemead man faces pimping and pandering charges after police allege he operated a brothel in San Jose.

According to the San Jose Police Department, a tipster reported potential human trafficking activity linked to a home on the 200 block of North 16th Street in November. The department's Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF) launched an investigation. Over the following months, detectives identified the brothel's alleged operator as Zhiqiang Liu, 53, of Rosemead.

Working with multiple units and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, detectives arrested Liu on April 19 and executed a search warrant at the home, police said. Investigators said evidence of a commercial brothel operation was discovered in the home, along with two survivors of human trafficking who were provided with resources.
