Man Dies Crashing Vehicle Into Tree In San Jose
The death makes the 11th fatality recorded on city streets this year.
SAN JOSE, CA -- A 64-year-old man was killed early Thursday morning after he crashed his vehicle into a tree in San Jose, according to police.
The crash was reported around 1:36 a.m. in the 1900 block of Curtner Avenue, San Jose police Officer Gina Tepoorten said. The man was driving a 2003 Mercedes-Benz on Curtner Avenue and had just crossed the intersection with New Jersey Avenue when he lost control and crashed.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Tepoorten said. His name wasn't released pending notification of the next of kin. No other passengers were in the vehicle.

According to Tepoorten, the crash is the 11th fatal collision in the city this year.
