The crash occurred on Hellyer Avenue on Saturday night when the driver of the vehicle lost control and hit a light pole.
SAN JOSE, CA — A man was killed late Saturday night in a solo-vehicle accident in which San Jose police believe speed was a major factor.
He was identified as 39-year-old Victor Ramirez Esquibel of San Jose.
The accident occurred about 10 p.m. Saturday at Hellyer Avenue and Embedded Way in South San Jose, said police Officer Gina Tepoorten. The driver's 2005 Honda Accord was headed north on Hellyer at "a high rate of speed" when the driver apparently lost control, crossed the median strip and crashed into a light pole.
