Man In Wheelchair Killed In Hit & Run: Police
Police said the suspect ran into the man and then into an iron fence before fleeing.
SAN JOSE, CA — A man in a wheelchair was struck and killed in an alleged hit-and-run collision in San Jose last weekend, police said Wednesday.
The man was on the curb near Hayes Avenue and Lily Ann Way at about 2:35 a.m. Sunday when the driver of a 2017 silver Mercedes-Benz sedan allegedly ran into him and then into an iron fence, according to San Jose police.
The victim, whose name wasn't released, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect allegedly fled but officers soon found him at a nearby residence.
The driver, whose name was also not immediately available, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of multiple crimes, including felony hit-and-run and manslaughter, police said.
