Motorcyclist Killed In South Bay Crash: CHP
The crash occurred at 4:10 p.m. Thursday on the northbound off-ramp from Interstate 880 to South Bascom Avenue, the CHP said.

SAN JOSÉ, CA — A South Bay collision claimed the life of 51-year-old San José motorcyclist on Thursday, authorities said.
The collision occurred Sept. 8 at 4:10 p.m. on the northbound off-ramp from Interstate 880 to South Bascom Avenue in San José, according to a news release from the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle ran off the east edge of the off-ramp and down an embankment before continuing on Bascom Avenue and crossing into the northbound lanes, where it collided with a pickup truck.

San José firefighters responded to the scene and declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
The driver and passengers in the pickup truck were uninjured, according to the release.

Alcohol and drug intoxication are not believed to have been a factor in the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
