Naked Bay Area Man Dies While In Police Custody: Prosecutors
Police said they were called to intervene on a family disturbance and then received a call about a drug overdose as well.
SAN JOSE, CA — Prosecutors said they are investigating the death of a man who was detained by police Wednesday morning in San Jose.
Around 8:05 a.m., San Jose Police Department officers said they responded to a home on South Buena Vista Avenue after they received a call about a family disturbance involving a fight.
Before officers could arrive, they said they received another call that a man was overdosing on drugs.

Police said when they arrived they found a man naked and acting erratically.
Officers said the man was detained but began to experience a medical emergency. Paramedics began life saving measures and he was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The Santa Clara District Attorney's office said they are investigating the incident as an in-custody death and the SJPD Homicide Unit Launched an investigation as well.
Police said they are withholding the man's identity until they notify next of kin.
