Odd Fellows Building Closer to Completion

Most of the exterior work has been done on the space that three businesses will soon fill.

Curious glances have been commonplace in front of the former Odd Fellows building at the corner of E. Campbell Avenue and First Street.

The building at 276 E. Campbell Ave. has transformed over the last 18 months since Imwalle Properties began turning the former Independent Order of Odd Fellows Morning Light Lodge #42 into a mixed-use building where spots of 5,000-, 3,000- and 2,00-square-feet will soon house downtown Campbell's newest tenants.

The construction project is taking an existing 5,400-square-foot building and adding a second 4,971-square-foot building, raising the total building square footage to 10,371, according to Campbell Planning Department documents.

Construction began November 2011 and has been "better than expected," said Cameron Peach, Acting Project Manager partner at South Bay Construction.

"We've been very fortunate for having a lot of dry weather," Peach said. "It's come together pretty quick. There's a lot of effort that goes into it. It should be a pretty nice looking building."
