SAN JOSE, CA — A pedestrian in San Jose suffered life-threatening injuries Saturday morning when she was struck by a vehicle at West Taylor and Spring streets.

The woman was taken to a hospital following the 6:32 a.m. collision, according to the San Jose Police Department.

The driver remained on the scene and was cooperating with police.

West Taylor Street was closed in both directions from state Highway 87 to Coleman Avenue. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes in a message from the police department on X at about 8 a.m. There was no estimate for when the road would reopen.
