Real-Time Results: Campbell Primary Election 2022
Santa Clara County polls are closed, and voters have had their say on who heads to the general election for sheriff and district attorney.
CAMPBELL, CA — Palo Alto Police Chief Robert Jonsen and former Santa Clara County Sheriff's Cpt. Kevin Jensen were poised to face off in the November general election in the race for Santa Clara County Sheriff, according to preliminary results Wednesday.
Jonsen has 34 percent of the vote and Jensen has 30 percent, with 52 percent of ballots counted.
District Attorney Jeff Rosen has a sizable cushion in his bid for re-election, accruing 59 percent of the vote. He appears poised to head into the November election against challenger Daniel Chung, who has 24 percent.

As of April, the California Secretary of State reported that 26,948,297 Californians were registered to vote, which accounts for almost 82 percent percent of the state's eligible voting population.
Not surprisingly, there are far more registered Democrats than Republicans in the state, with 46.75 percent for the former and 23.92% for the latter. GOP registration in the state has been dropping steadily, a trend that shows no sign of slowing down even as Republican registration climbed at the national level over the last year.
Voter turnout is not expected to be as high this primary season, especially without highly competitive statewide races.
The five candidates running for sheriff are:
- Sean Allen
- Anh Colton
- Kevin Jensen
- Robert Jonsen
- Christine Nagaye
The three candidates running for district attorney are:
- Daniel Chung
- Sajid Khan
- Jeff Rosen
