San Francisco Estuary Institute's 2024 Pulse of the Bay Report

The San Francisco Estuary Institute (SFEI) just released its 2024 Pulse of the Bay report on “Contaminants of Emerging Concern.” Of highest concern are PFAS (water and stain repellants commonly known as “forever chemicals”) and organophosphate esters (OPEs - widely used in plastics as additive flame retardants and plasticizers), with both having a high probability of impact on the Bay.
