San Jose Fire Crew Knocks Down Structure Blaze

The blaze initially reported around midnight on Hedding Street in San Jose displaced one person but hurt no one.

SAN JOSE, CA — Fire crews contained a 1-alarm fire at an apartment in north San Jose early Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.

The blaze was first reported at 12 a.m. at 1137 West Hedding Street, San Jose Fire Department Captain Peter Caponio said. The fire was contained to a front bedroom upstairs and extinguished at 12:15 a.m.

One person was displaced, and nobody was injured. Caponio credited the department's quick response time with keeping the blaze from spreading.
