Small Quake Rattles South Bay
The quake was reported at 5:37 a.m. a few miles northeast of San Jose.
SAN JOSE, CA — A preliminary 2.7-magnitude earthquake rumbled northeast of San Jose early Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake took place at 5:37 a.m. Tuesday 8 kilometers northeast of Alum Rock at a depth of 7.7 kilometers, according to USGS.
Hardly anyone nearby felt the quake, according to USGS's "Did You Feel It?" map.
