Suspect In 2022 South Bay Homicide Arrested In Idaho
Humberto Correa-Velasquez, 48 of San José, was arrested on suspicion of homicide Dec. 29, authorities said.
SAN JOSÉ, CA — A South Bay man was arrested in Idaho connection with a 2022 homicide, San José police said.
Humberto Correa-Velasquez, 48 of San José, was arrested on suspicion of homicide Dec. 29 with assistance from the Caldwell Police Department, authorities said.
Correa-Velasquez was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail Jan. 6 after he was extradited to the Bay Area.

Officers at around 7:30 a.m. Nov. 18 responding to the 10000 block of Dougherty Avenue on a report of a shooting found an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound, police said.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The case was San José’s 34th reported homicide of 2022.

Homicide detectives obtained a warrant for Correa-Velasquez after an investigation determined he was the suspect, police said.
“On December 29, 2022, Correa-Velasquez was taken into custody in Caldwell, Idaho by members of the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force,” police said in a news release.
“Detectives from the SJPD Homicide Unit responded to Idaho, and with the assistance of the Caldwell Police Department, continued with the on-going investigation into the homicide.”
