Suspect In Fatal South Bay Stabbing Of 16-Year-Old Boy Arrested: Cops

SAN JOSÉ, CA — A suspect was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy over the weekend, San José police said.
Michael Obiols, 18 of San José, was arrested on suspicion of homicide, police said.
Obiols was arrested at around 10:45 a.m. Saturday near his home on Remington Way, police said.

The stabbing attack left another victim hospitalized, police said.
Officers at around 1:35 a.m. Saturday responding to the area of Quimby Road and Caraston Way on a report of a stabbing found the two victims suffering from at least one stab wound each, police said.

Both were transported to local hospitals, police said.
The boy succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to police.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, police said.
The boy’s killing is the South Bay City’s 26th reported homicide of this year.
