Suspect in Campbell Child Abuse Case Arrested
Almost a month after a 3-year-old girl was taken from her Campbell home, the second suspect in her case, George Rodriguez, has been arrested.

The man wanted in connection with the of a 3-year-old Campbell girl was arrested Wednesday.
George Rodriguez, 35, was found in San Jose nearly 30 days after police got word that his ex-girlfriend's toddler had been severely abused and was missing. The girl was and is in protective custody. Her mother, 31-year-old Jane Marin, was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail May 11 on felony child abuse charges.
On Wednesday at about 1:35 p.m., the received a tip that Rodriguez was in the area of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Springer Way in San Jose. Officers from the San Jose Police Department spotted George Rodriguez in a passenger seat, stopped the car and arrested him without incident.

"Our detectives have been following up leads every day," said Campbell police Capt. Charley Adams. "Some were informants; some were citizens calling in. We credit the SJPD on this. We really appreciate their help."
Rodriguez was arrested on a $125,000 warrant on charges of .

"I give a lot of kudos to our investigators for staying on the trail and following up on leads," Adams said. "They led them to San Jose, Sacramento, where we barely missed him, and then back here. They acted on them rather quickly and we got him.
"And kudos to the community with providing us with as much up-to-date information that led us to him," he said. "A nice ending to the investigation at this point."
The police will now have to prepare the case for the courts, he said.
"The work's not over, but at least he’s off the street, and no one is worried about him anymore," Adams said.
