Symphony San Jose's 'From Screen To Stage' Features Danny Elfman Piece
The Oscar-nominated film composer wrote a violin concerto that will be performed during a two-day program at the symphony this spring.

SAN JOSE, CA — A two-day event at Symphony San Jose this spring will feature a violin concerto written by musician and film composer Danny Elfman.
Tickets are on sale now for "From Screen to Stage," conducted by film music specialist Sarah Hicks whose previous shows include "Pixar in Concert" and "Coco in Concert." The program will feature Erich Korngold's "Overture to The Sea Hawk," Dimitri Shostakovich's "Symphony No. 1," and Danny Elfman's "Violin Concerto."
Elfman, a four-time Oscar nominee whose iconic film scores include "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993) and "Batman" (1989), wrote his piece specifically Sandy Cameron, the soloist who will perform all three pieces.
