SAN JOSE, CA — A behavioral therapist and school aide is accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl during a session at her San Jose home, according to police.

In a news release, the police department said it received a report Saturday about a sexual assault that occurred the day before. According to police, the girl told officers her therapist assaulted her, and the department's Internet Crimes Against Children/Child Exploitation Detail Task Force began a thorough investigation.

Police identified the suspect Wednesday as Alejandro Lopez Nunez, who was employed as a behavioral therapist at Trumpet Behavioral Health and worked as a part-time instructional aide at Forest Hill Elementary School.

The task force alleged it found evidence Lopez Nunez had assaulted the girl multiple times since March.

He was arrested Sunday in Santa Clara and booked into jail on suspicion of sexual assault of a minor. Due to his work as a "person of trust," investigators said they believe there could be more victims in the case. Anyone with information can contact investigators at 408-277-4102.
