'Upskirt' Videographer Info Sought By San Jose Police
SJ Police are searching for clues leading to charges against the man already in custody who is being accused of filming up women's skirts.

SAN JOSE, CA — San Jose police are searching for information about a suspect who allegedly filmed "upskirt" videos of several women at stores in San Jose, police said Friday.
James Rehmert, 58, was reported between April 1 and May 13 taking inappropriate videos of women at The Plant shopping center at 1 Curtner Ave. in San Jose, according to Sgt. Eddie Garcia, who said the man focused on women wearing skirts or dresses while they were shopping.
"He would hold the phone with his hand and videotape up the skirt of unsuspecting victims," Garcia added. Police launched an investigation and identified the suspect as Rehmert, a registered sex offender.

Officers found evidence of offenses against numerous women, and believe Rehmert may have filmed women at other locations in the city and Santa Clara County. Rehmert was already in county jail for unrelated charges when he was served an arrest warrant for 14 misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct on Wednesday.
Police are asking any possible victims to come forward with information about their encounters with Rehmert by contacting Sgt. John Marfia at 408-277-4290.
