Women Sexually Assaulted, Man Attacked During SJ Home Invasion: Police

Police allege a man with a gun sexually assaulted two women and attacked a man after forcing his way into an apartment and tying them up.

SAN JOSE, CA — A Santa Clara man arrested this month is accused of assaulting three victims at gunpoint during a home invasion robbery in San Jose.

According to police, the victims called 911 from an apartment on South Ninth Street around 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 2. Officers learned an unidentified man forced his way into the apartment and brandished a gun before tying up the three victims.

Investigators allege the suspect assaulted and threatened to kill the man before sexually assaulting the two women inside the home. The victims told police the man took cash and personal belongings before fleeing the scene.

Robbery detectives took over the case and their investigation led them to Juan Jordan, 58, of Santa Clara, police said. Working with the Covert Response Unit, the detectives arrested Jordan in San Jose on Dec. 10.

He was booked into the Main Jail on suspicion of multiple crimes, including sexual assault, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and burglary. According to jail records, Jordan remains in custody at Elmwood without bail. A court hearing was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
