2 Santa Cruz County Fire Departments Merge Into 1 Joint Operation
The Aptos-La Selva Fire Prevention Bureau officially merged its operations with the Central Fire Prevention District on April 1.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA -- As of April 1, two fire protection districts in the county have combined to share space and resources, with the move taking place under the direction of their Boards of Directors.
The Aptos-La Selva Fire Prevention Bureau has been combined with Central Fire Protection District's Fire Prevention to become the Community Risk Reduction Division for both Districts.
In February, the Boards of Directors for both the Central Fire and Aptos/La Selva Fire districts voted to enter into a shared services agreement for both of their respective Fire Prevention Divisions. This joint operation is an effort to combine services and cut costs for both Fire Districts.
