Meet A Future Leader In Capitola-Soquel: Nate Dow
Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to highlight young people achieving great things in our community.

The future of Capitola-Soquel is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Nate Dow, who are making a positive impact in and around Capitola-Soquel.
A 2023 graduate of Aptos High School, Nate Dow excelled both on and off the field, serving as Captain of the varsity soccer team in his senior year and earning multiple awards for his performance. His leadership extended beyond soccer when he stepped in as a first-time kicker for the football team, helping propel them to a second-place finish in the league. Balancing academics with athletics, Nate challenged himself with Advanced Placement courses while maintaining an outstanding GPA. His hard work earned him recognition as one of six Santa Cruz County students awarded a scholarship to San Jose State University for the 2023-24 academic year.
Beyond his academic and athletic achievements, Nate embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that sets young leaders apart. At just 13 years old, he launched his own surfboard-making business, demonstrating both creativity and business acumen. While running his business, he also held a part-time job, showcasing his dedication to personal and professional growth. Now pursuing a degree in Interdisciplinary Engineering at San Jose State, Nate has his sights set on building a business that will not only fuel his passion for innovation but also make a positive impact on others.
