Molotov Cocktail Burns Car in Soquel
A homemade explosive device went off under a car Friday night.

Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a burning car on Friday night, but were unable to solve the case.
At 11:19 p.m., a car on the street at 3131 N Center St. in Soquel was seen aflame and Central Fire personnel came and extinguished the blaze.
By the time deputies arrived, the fire was already out and there were no obvious suspects. It is believed that someone threw a Molotov cocktail under the vehicle and fled the scene, Deputy April Skalland told Patch.

The owner, a Soquel man, was interviewed and didn't know anything about the incident. Skalland said the arson is not believed to be gang related.
Just 36 hours later, 80 tires were slashed in a Soquel neighborhood on Sunday morning. No arrests have been made in relation to that incident either.
