  Marc Lawrence, 21, was arrested for allegedly taking inappropriate photos of girls during a swim meet at Santa Cruz High, police say.
• Woman Arrested After Allegedly Snatching Boy at Santa Cruz Park
  Shelly Ann Minson, 46, allegedly lured the boy over to her by asking him for his assistance, then grabbed & dragged him before he got away.
• Santa Cruz County Gang Member with Assault Rifle Nabbed by Cops
  A gang member armed with an assault rifle is back in jail after Watsonville Police officers served a high-risk search warrant Wednesday.
• Santa Cruz PD on Patrol for Distracted Drivers All This Month
  As part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, Santa Cruz police are on the lookout all April for drivers using mobile devices.
• Watsonville Police Dept. Launches 'Distracted Driver' Patrols
  During Distracted Driving Awareness Month, Watsonville Police will have extra officers looking for drivers breaking hands-free cellphone law.
• 2 Santa Cruz County Fire Departments Merge Into 1 Joint Operation
  The Aptos-La Selva Fire Prevention Bureau officially merged its operations with the Central Fire Prevention District on April 1.
• Santa Cruz County Possible DUI Crash: 1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured
  A 45-year-old man suspected of drunk driving died in a car crash near Santa Cruz on Saturday and his male passenger was seriously injured.
• 2 Nabbed After Scotts Valley High Speed Chase; 1 Suspect at Large
  The chase began after a sheriff's deputy attempted to stop the suspect vehicle at about 6 p.m. Sunday for a vehicle code violation.
