Gelson's to Open New Stores in San Diego
The upscale grocery chain is adding stores where Haggen locations used to be. Smart & Final may open stores, as well.
Upscale grocery retailer Gelson’s will take over two former Haggen store locations in San Diego County, according to representatives who say the chain has successfully purchased five former Haggen sites.
The locations are at 2707 Via De La Valle, Del Mar and 730 Turquoise Street, San Diego.
In other news, Smart & Final has acquired former Haggen locations in Carlsbad, Coronado, and La Mesa, according to Haggen.
