CARLSBAD, CA — The Carlsbad-based technology company ViaSat recently announced multiple job cuts Thursday.

Over 150 local workers were laid off as part of Viasat's global layoffs, according to a recent report from KPBS. Tech San Diego Executive Director Kevin Carroll described the move, saying the company cut its international workers by 10 percent after acquiring another tech company, Inmarsat.

Just under 1,000 workers worldwide were left without jobs as ViaSat restructured.
