A child was shot and killed in Compton tonight and authorities are searching for two men in connection with the shooting, a sheriff's sergeant said.Deputies were dispatched at 6:58 p.m. to the area of East San Marcus Street and North Holly Avenue on a report of several shots fired, said Sgt. Ulysses Cruz of the sheriff's Compton station.Paramedics rushed the child to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood where the toddler was pronounced dead, Cruz said.The child's gender was not immediately known.
