LIVE BLOG: Following The LACMA Rock Through Cerritos
"Let's Rock!" Join us as we follow the LACMA Rock as it journeys through the city of Cerritos.
Editor's Note: This blog will be updated throughout the overnight hours of March 5 to March 6. Please upload your photos and share your experience with us. We'd look forward to seeing what you've captured!
4:45 a.m.: The rock safely made its last turn from Studebaker Road onto South Street just at the start of the Cerritos Auto Square and the moving mass is not too far from its resting place for the night at South Street and Palo Verdes Avenue in Lakewood, where it will be parked until 10 p.m. Tuesday, March 6 before heading out to Long Beach -- so drop by to get your photos with the enormous rock if you can.
What a cool night for our community and all the neighboring cities that also experienced this journey. It was awesome seeing so many people from the area come out into the cold of night to see a little bit of this historical journey. For those of you who didn't make it out, don't worry. We'll be posting a special video piece on this historic event on our site in the coming days along with lots of photos.

And special thanks to all who followed along and uploaded your great photos. That's a wrap for us! Good night-Good morning everyone :)
3:06 a.m.: The rock just passed and it's currently making its way along Del Amo Boulevard heading toward Studebaker Road. I'm not going to lie, following this thing is tiring, the fact that it's currently 3:08 a.m. doesn't help either. Good thing a visitor of this size doesn't come around often! We're now posted at the corner of Studebaker Road and South Street, waiting for the rock's final turn on tonight's journey!

2:15 a.m.: I almost feel like a storm chaser except in this case I'm chasing a rock! We caught the rock in front of and now we're posted at the Target on the corner of Del Amo Boulevard and Bloomfield Avenue. The LACMA rock entourage is HUGE! Such a cool thing to see traveling through the night. We'll have lots of video and photos to post when we get home, in the meantime, I'm following this bad boy for as long as I can. Rock on!
12 a.m.: The rock is currently on Carmenita Road at the Santa Ana (5) Freeway overpass! Here we go folks ...
11:30 p.m.: Patch reader Tim O'Donnell reports that the LACMA rock is in the area of Marquardt and Rosecrans avenues in Santa Fe Springs. Have you see it yet?
10:30 p.m.: According to several local residents, trees are being cut on Carmenita Road in anticipation the , which is expected to travel through the city overnight en route to its final destination at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to be part of Michael Heizer's Levitated Mass. Patch will be hitting the streets to capture this historical moment. But please feel free to upload your photos to this article and leave comments on what you see as the night progresses!
