A man in his 20s was shot and killed outside of the Tea Station in City Plaza early Saturday.

A man shot outside a restaurant in Artesia's City Plaza early Saturday has died, and deputies are continuing to search for the gunman.

The shooting happened around 12:20 a.m. July 27 in the 11600 block of South Street, and was possibly gang-related, according to Sgt. James Robling of the Lakewood Sheriff's Station.

A lieutenant at the Lakewood Station told Patch that the shooting took place outside of the Tea Station restaurant located at 11688 South St.

According to sheriff's Sgt. Diane Hecht, a group of men were inside a restaurant when another patron walked up to that group and started arguing with one of the men. During the fight, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim.

The victim was shot once in the stomach, and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Hecht said. The name of the 20-something victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
