- President Barack Obama plans to travel to Los Angeles County on Tuesday to tape an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. According to an official, Obama will visit Phoenix on Tuesday to discuss his plans for boosting home ownership across the country and will then travel to Burbank for the taping.

A ticket with five numbers in Wednesday's multi-state Powerball lottery, but missing the Powerball number, was sold at a downtown Los Angeles convenience store and is worth $3,095,357. The numbers drawn were 8, 24, 39, 49, 59 and the Powerball number was 5. The estimated jackpot was $235 million.
