BUTTE COUNTY, CA -- The Butte County Sheriff's Department recently launched a campaign to raise $50,000 to purchase a new command trailer and tow vehicle.
The vehicle, which will help the department's Search and Rescue Team, can house work stations, computers, wireless networking, wireless data, printers, radio communication systems along with providing storage for our various high technology tools utilized during searches, according to the Sheriff's Department.
The estimated cost for a new 2017 Ford F350 4Γ4 Diesel Pickup is $100,000 but organizers hope to raise $50,000. Donations, which are tax-deductible, will be accepted through Dec. 31.
