• Chico man faces new embezzlement charges after anonymous tip reveals $39K theft (krcrtv.com) — A Chico resident with a prior Chico State embezzlement conviction is now accused of stealing nearly $40,000 from a local optometry business, prompting new grand theft charges. Prosecutors say an anonymous tip led to a forensic audit, his firing, and a Chico Police investigation. He’s being held on $100,000 bail and is due back in court December 31.
