1. Nineteen lives lost are honored (chicosol.org) β€” Nineteen people who died while unhoused on Chico’s streets or in shelters this year were remembered Dec. 21 at the city’s fifth Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day gathering at the Our Hands sculpture. Local advocates read names in the rain, shared memories, and renewed calls for better non-congregate shelter options and more transparent tracking of deaths among Chico’s unhoused neighbors.

2. Chico journalist sues DA Ramsey over public records (chicosol.org) β€” A Chico-based journalist has filed a new lawsuit in Butte County Superior Court accusing the district attorney, Chico Police Department, City of Chico and sheriff of unlawfully withholding records on several recent officer-involved shootings.
