• Citrus Heights Council selects new Mayor, Vice Mayor for 2026 (citrusheightssentinel.com) — Citrus Heights has selected its 2026 leadership, with Councilmember MariJane Lopez-Taff chosen as mayor and Councilmember Porsche Middleton as vice mayor during the Dec. 10 council meeting. Outgoing Mayor Jayna Karpinski-Costa, who stepped in after Bret Daniels’ 2024 resignation, handed over the gavel as she continues serving her District 4 term through 2026.
   

• Santa's Arrival at Citrus Town Center (territorialdispatch.com) — Families in Citrus Heights can meet Santa today at Citrus Town Center from 10 a.m. to noon, with free holiday activities and snow play. Photos with Santa will accept donations benefiting Citrus Heights HART, making this a fun way to celebrate while supporting neighbors in need.
   

• West Coast Vietnam Veterans Memorial (thewestsideexpress.com) — A major new Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica is planned in the veterans’ section of Calvary Cemetery in partnership with the City of Citrus Heights, with all public approvals already in place. Construction can begin once fundraising is complete, bringing a full-scale version of “The Wall” within easy reach of West Coast residents and local school groups traveling along nearby Highway 80.
