LA VERNE, CA — The La Verne Police Department will only allow one person into its front lobby at a time amid a surge in coronavirus cases across Los Angeles County.

There's no timetable as to when the lobby will reopen fully, the department said Monday.

Residents can access the front lobby during business hours by calling the records department at 909-596-1913 or using the phone located near the lobby door, officials said. The police department's lobby is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Public health officials in the county have encouraged continued masking in indoor areas and to limit high-risk activities where an individual could become exposed to the virus.

A significant way to protect against the coronavirus and its variants is to get the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
