1 Dead In 4-Vehicle Crash On Highway 4 In Contra Costa County

The victim was a man who was not wearing a seatbelt, the CHP said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — One person was killed in a four-vehicle collision on state Highway 4 west of Pittsburg early Friday, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers responded about 5:05 a.m. to a report of a crash on eastbound Highway 4, east of Bailey Road, the highway patrol said Saturday on social media.

The victim, the driver of a white Hyundai sedan, was a man who was not wearing a seatbelt, the CHP said. Driving under the influence is not suspected to be a factor.

The drivers of a blue Toyota Camry and a silver Toyota Camry sustained suspected minor injuries, the CHP said. The driver of a blue Dodge Ram was not injured.
