1 Dead In Early-Morning Concord Shooting
The victim was found lying near an intersection, suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
CONCORD, CA—A man was fatally shot early Monday at a Concord intersection.
Gunshots were heard around 3 a.m. by patrol officers working near Monument Boulevard and Meadow Lane being fired, the Concord Police Department said. Simultaneously, dispatchers received several 911 calls regarding the gunshots.
Officers responded and found a 40-year-old man lying near the intersection of Monument and Reganti Drive, suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officers quickly determined the gunshots were fired from a car that had fled the area, Concord police said.
Detectives responded and were continuing their investigation.

Late Monday morning, Concord police were not releasing further information such as the victim's name.
"This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with more information is asked to contact Concord Police Department Major Crimes Unit Detective Justin Wilson at (925) 603-5859 or the Concord Police Department tip line at (925) 603-5836," Concord PD said.
