Contra Costa County sheriff’s detectives say it appears to be a domestic incident with no outstanding suspects, but they are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.

East Bay park district acquires 190 acres near Concord, expanding regional open space (localnewsmatters.org) — New protected parkland has been added right next to Concord, linking former Concord Naval Weapons Station lands with the Upper Hess Creek watershed and Thurgood Marshall Regional Park. The 190 acres, donated by a developer, will stay in land-bank status while safety work and access planning move forward, helping set up future trail connections toward Black Diamond Mines.
