1 Killed, 2 Injured In Contra Costa County​ Shooting

A man was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the front yard of the residence.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — One person was killed and two were injured in a shooting in Contra Costa County early Saturday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies were called to a residence in the 2100 block of Mendocino Drive, in the unincorporated area of Bay Point, at about 1 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots.

A man was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the front yard of the residence. Deputies performed first aid until paramedics arrived, but the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His identity was not released.

Shortly after, two other gunshot victims arrived at a hospital seeking medical treatment for injuries described by the sheriff's office as not life threatening.

The sheriff's office homicide unit is investigating the shooting.
