2 Concord Residents Die In Port Chicago Highway Crash
The Contra Costa County coroner's office identified a man and a woman from Concord as the victims in Monday's fatal crash.
CONCORD, CA — Authorities identified a man and a woman who died from injuries suffered in a car crash early Monday morning on Port Chicago Highway in Concord.
Emergency personnel responded at 1:45 a.m. Monday to northbound Port Chicago Highway near High School Avenue, where a car had collided with a light pole, Concord police Sgt. M. Ghaznawi said.
The front passenger of the car, identified by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as Katherine Hermoza, 51, of Concord, died at the scene.

The driver, identified by the coroner's office as Jimmy Tello Alarco, 37, also of Concord, was rushed to a hospital but died Monday afternoon.
Northbound Port Chicago Highway was closed for several hours Monday as the fatal incident was investigated.
