CONCORD, CA — Police in Concord arrested two people suspected of organized retail theft after a vehicle and foot pursuit, the department said Wednesday.

Police received a BOLO —be on the lookout—alert at 2:30 p.m. for a vehicle allegedly associated with a retail theft and vehicle burglaries, then license plate readers picked up the vehicle near Diamond Boulevard and Burnett Avenue.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver failed to comply, and a slow-speed pursuit ensued, according to police. Spike strips were laid down and disabled the vehicle, though it kept moving, albeit slowly, into the Sunvalley Shopping Center.

The vehicle came to a stop in the southeast corner of the shopping center and four people got out and fled on foot, police said. Officers pursued them and caught two suspects, though the other two got away and are still outstanding.

Police believe the vehicle was stolen out of San Francisco. Burglary tools and stolen property were allegedly found inside it.
