5 Injured In 3-Car Crash Near Sunvalley Mall In Concord

Three vehicles were all headed west on Sunvalley Boulevard, just south of Sunvalley Mall, when the collision happened, according to police.

CONCORD, CA — Five people were taken to the hospital Sunday night for treatment of minor injuries suffered in a three-vehicle collision on Sunvalley Boulevard in Concord, police said.

The crash was reported about 8:15 p.m. Sunday after three vehicles, all headed west on Sunvalley Boulevard just south of Sunvalley Mall, collided, said Concord police Cpl. Amy Hendricks.

None of the three vehicles was seriously damaged, but five people — all either drivers or passengers in those vehicles — were taken by ambulance to local hospitals, Hendricks said.

The cause of the collision had not been determined late Sunday night, though Hendricks said it appeared neither drugs nor alcohol were factors.
