7 Arrested In Concord Armed Smash-And-Grab Armed Burglary Pursuit: Police

Seven teens forced their way through the glass of doors of the Sun Valley early Sunday and led police on a chase before being arrested: CPD

CONCORD, CA — Concord police arrested a group of seven teens in a pre-dawn break-in at the Sun Valley Mall.

The teens — all but one under the age of 18 — forced their way through the mall's glass doors early Sunday, Concord police said.

A security guard called the Concord Police Department at about at 3:52 a.m.

The group fled when police arrived.

Three of them were on foot and were arrested by police.

Another four fled by car, leading officers on a pursuit.

The teen driver lost control of the car, and hit another vehicle, then fled on foot, police said.

He was arrested by officers who found him hiding in bushes.

They also arrested the three teens he left behind in the car.

No injuries were reported.

Police said one of the teens had a firearm with modifications that made it an assault weapon.

Six of the supsects under the age of 18, all from San Pablo and Richmond, were booked at the Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall. They have not been identified because of their age.

Marcos Ramirez-Castro, 18, of Richmond, was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
