Gianna has been an old soul her entire life. She strives to bring out the best in people. She has been awarded several awards throughout the years for being a Good Samaritan, constantly being respectful, encouraging others to do good. She has been student body president of her elementary school for the past 2 years. She believes she can make a difference in the world and wants to be the next president when she reaches the age to run. She often helps her fellow schoolmates, whether they are in kindergarten to 5th grade. If she sees someone struggling with schoolwork or just having a bad day she will chime in and give them some encouragement. She believes everyone can be successful and it doesn’t matter your education level. Her motto is as long as you do it with a heart in mind you will always have a great outcome. She has participated in several sports/ music programs from our local recreation center in Bay Point, which is unincorporated, so it is really hard for the youth to find engaging activities. She often encourages her peers to go to the local library and enjoy reading, draw pictures and imagine what their life could be and to manifest it. She enjoys reading, writing her own books, drawing, playing sports like football and baseball. She defies the odds against her. I teach her everyday since she was small that she can do anything a man can do and to not fall into the she’s a girl and she’s weak. She works just as hard as the boys do in sports. She has even managed to learn how to play the violin with a broken hand. She is an amazing young woman who deserves recognition.
