An 11-year-old boy is being flown to Children's Hospital in Oakland after being hit by a car in Antioch this afternoon, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District spokesman said.
Fire crews responded to reports of a child hit by a car in the 1400 block of A Street around 1:25 p.m., fire spokesman Robert Marshall said. Marshall said the boy was conscious and breathing when fire and medical personnel arrived at the scene. A medical helicopter arrived a short time later to take him to the hospital. Information about the extent of his injuries and the car involved in the collision was not immediately known.
