Coast Guard Suspends Search For Missing Boater In Indian Slough
Efferin Cruz was reported missing after the small inflatable craft he was in popped near Discovery Bay.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a man reported missing early Sunday morning in Indian Slough near Discovery Bay after combing more than 485 square nautical miles in 27 hours.
The victim, Efferin Cruz, was reported missing after the small inflatable craft he was in popped around 4:15 a.m. Sunday.
A Coast Guard rescue boat and MH-65 helicopter responded to the scene, as did units from the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office. The search continued until roughly 6:40 p.m. Sunday, when it was temporarily suspended for the night.

The helicopter returned at 6:15 a.m. Monday, but the crew suspended their search later that morning.
Cruz is described as a man in his mid 30s who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 185 pounds. Anyone with information about where to find him is asked to call 415-399-3451.
